For the past five years, RWA has served as Engineer of Record for Bonita Springs Utilities, Inc., and has successfully completed numerous utility design projects under this contract. These projects consisted of the design, permitting, and construction phases of multiple sanitary sewer force main and water main relocations. The construction administration services included project administration, bidding, construction services and spot inspections, testing and permit certification, as-built preparation, pay estimates, and project closeout.
RWA performed a water and sewer study that consisted of preparing proposed alternatives for replacing the existing water and sewer facilities within Spring Creek Village. The study consisted of assembling existing as-built water and sewer plans, reviewing existing studies and agreements, and obtaining copies of existing permits and consent orders. In addition, the study developed typical cross sections, explored three alternatives for the sanitary system, minimizing sizes of gravity, force and vacuum mains, developed a preliminary plan for potable water main replacement, reviewed restrictions for tying into the existing sanitary sewer system, developed an opinion of probable cost for feasible sewer alternatives and water mains, incorporated soil boring information, identified surveying needs, and developed preliminary and final construction budgets and schedules. The study required significant coordination with a geotechnical engineer in developing feasible alternatives for the sanitary sewer system replacement. Gravity, low pressure force main, and vacuum system options were reviewed. An opinion of probable cost was developed for each alternative and used for basis of assessments. The project involved conceptual planning of 8,000 feet of water main and gravity sanitary sewer.
