For the past five years, RWA has served as Engineer of Record for Bonita Springs Utilities, Inc., and has successfully completed numerous utility design projects under this contract. These projects consisted of the design, permitting, and construction phases of multiple sanitary sewer force main and water main relocations. The construction administration services included project administration, bidding, construction services and spot inspections, testing and permit certification, as-built preparation, pay estimates, and project closeout.
RWA provided the design, permitting, bidding, and construction phase services for a new 30" ductile iron pipe effluent main, 8" PVC force main and a 4” communication conduit from the West Water Reclamation Facility (WWRF) south along Old 41 Road to Shangrila Road, running east and crossing I-75 to the East Water Reclamation Facility (EWRF). Coordination was necessary with the roadway engineers designing the Old 41 Road widening, Shangrila Road improvements, Three Oaks Parkway, the I-75 widening project, Seminole Gulf Railroad, and the consultant designing and building the EWRF. The total length of the project was 19,000 feet including the design of directional bores in two different locations. The longest of the bores was 600 feet long under I-75 involving three separate bores, one for each main; the 30” HDPE effluent main inside a 42” HDPE casing, 8” HDPE force main inside a 16” HDPE casing, and 4” HDPE communication line inside an 8” HDPE casing. The I-75 directional bores involved coordination with FDOT and the contractor constructing the EWRF. A second directional bore was 400 feet long under Old 41 Road and within the existing WWRF grounds involving three separate bores, one for each main; the 30” HDPE effluent main, 8” HDPE force main, and 4” HDPE communication line. The Old 41 Road directional bores involved coordination with Seminole Gulf Railroad and the City of Bonita Springs.
