The Forest Glen Golf & Country Club, in association with Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates, contracted RWA to re-design the existing 18-hole golf course that was originally constructed in 1998. RWA was selected to provide civil engineering and land surveying services associated with the proposed re-design. The scope of the changes affected every aspect and area of the golf course property, including re-shaping of virtually all on-site lakes. RWA coordinated closely with the golf course architect to ensure that the proposed site modifications would remain in compliance with the original permit requirements, commitments, and stipulations, as well as avoid expensive, time-consuming, and unnecessary permitting. This entailed conducting comprehensive site plan analysis of multiple iterations of conceptual plans from the golf course architect.
Upon resolution of the site plan issues, RWA developed a detailed re-design of the existing water management and drainage infrastructure, and prepared the accompanying construction plans and specifications, as well as the comprehensive earthwork calculations. This involved significant coordination with the golf course architect, irrigation system designer, landscape architect, and client. Considerations were given to the abutting residential development parcels, and to the adjacent wetlands and preserves, as to avoid any impacts. RWA prepared and supported modifications to the SFWMD Environmental Resource Permit and the Collier County Site Development Plan for the project.
Additionally, RWA provided survey construction stakeout services for all of the site improvements and modifications. This included layout of the lake modifications, post-construction cross-sections, lake certifications to Collier County, and record drawings surveys. RWA’s construction administration staff provided on-site observation of the construction activities with detailed weekly reports, and heavy coordination with the site contractors throughout the entire duration of the construction activity. RWA closed out the project by conducting the appropriate site inspections with Collier County and SFWMD staff and obtaining the necessary certifications to complete the job.
