RWA was selected as a sub-consultant by Collier County and as a team member with CH2M Hill to provide surveying services for the creation of the Gordon River Quality Park. The 50-acre natural water quality treatment facility will provide flooding relief and tertiary treatment of stormwater runoff from the Gordon River Extension Basin, while also providing a number of passive recreational and educational uses.
The project will combine wetlands, habitats, trails, boardwalks, fishing piers, educational facilities, and extensive landscape and hardscape within a passive park setting. The project included mapping of the existing South Florida Water Management and US Army Corps of Engineers jurisdictional wetlands, hydrological indicators, Gordon River flow way, endangered species, 100 foot grid topography, and prepareation of a record survey for the onsite and adjacent utilities.
