Vanderbilt Beach Road is proposed to be extended from Collier Boulevard to Desoto Boulevard. The first phase to be constructed will be be from Collier Boulevard east to Wilson Boulevard. This section is approximately five miles in length and will require three bridge crossings. The second phase will be from Wilson Boulevard to Desoto Boulevard. This section is approximately five miles in length and will require four bridge crossings.
RWA was selected by Collier County as a sub-consultant to provide a control, topographic, vertical, jurisdictional, photogrammetric, and right-of-way surveys for the 10.5-mile Vanderbilt Beach Road project. The project includes mapping a 400-foot corridor that starts at Collier Boulevard and ends at Desoto Boulevard. Included within this corridor is 4.5 miles of canal cross sections for SFWMD Cypress Canal, three bridge crossings, the establishment of vertical bench marks on 500’ intervals, coordination with the geotechnical consultants, boundary and topographic surveys of 9, five-acre stormwater management ponds, and the establishment of state plane coordinates utilizing GPS technology.
