Roger G. Carter P.S.M.
Senior Vice President, Business Unit Leader of Surveying

With over 22 years of land development surveying and mapping experience, Mr. Roger Carter is a Principal of RWA and member of the Board of Directors.  In 1998, Mr. Carter joined RWA and founded the firm’s Surveying and Mapping Division.  As RWA’s current Surveying and Mapping Services Business Unit Leader, Mr. Carter is responsible for leading the Surveying division’s business development and client relations process, in addition to, providing technical, project management, and client management expertise, while overseeing all of the firm’s survey-related activities. 

Mr. Carter’s surveying and mapping expertise dates back to his teenage years in Kentucky, when he began working in the field for his father.  He continued surveying and mapping in the underground mining and mineral industry throughout his college years; and later moved to Southwest Florida to continue his pursuit of the profession. 

Mr. Carter’s significant expertise in the field has led to the successful completion of numerous large-scale Southwest Florida area projects.  During his impressive career, Mr. Carter has served as the Principal-in-Charge on a number of noteworthy projects, including the Golden Gate Parkway Grade Separated Overpass and the Naples Airport Expansion.  

Mr. Carter’s surveying expertise involves considerable public sector projects; as well as, significant private sector projects, including major public roadway expansions, single family and multi-family residential projects, master planned communities, school facilities, County parks, large utility distribution main extensions, fire stations, industrial sites, shopping centers, marinas, golf courses, rezoning, and expert witness.

In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Carter maintains active involvement in professional societies and youth organizations throughout Southwest Florida.  Since 1996, Mr. Carter has been a member of the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society, where over the past several years he has served as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and President of the Collier-Lee Chapter.  In addition, Mr. Carter actively participates as a volunteer coach, manager, and Board Member of the Golden Gate National Little League, and has also contributed hundreds of hours to local softball and baseball Little League teams.  Over the past several years, Mr. Carter has volunteered with both the Boy Scouts of America, as well as the Cub Scouts of America, where he held the position of Cub Master in 1996.
